To provide a camera system and a shot image display device, which make the size and dimensions of an affected area accurately and simply displayed on a monitor display in dentistry and which are simply utilized for medical procedures, the grasp of the condition of the affected area, and the like.

The camera system 100 includes an electron camera apparatus for taking the image of the affected area 109 in the dentistry, and monitoring equipment for displaying the output image, which is taken by the camera apparatus, on a monitor. The camera apparatus has the function of outputting multi-view images taken by a plurality of electron cameras 101 and 102. The camera apparatus includes: a means for avoiding a video failure caused by an operator's shadow or a shadow of a surgical instrument, by switching the video-failure image to an image with a different point of sight; a shadowless light illumination means for obtaining a shadowless image by avoiding an illumination failure caused by the operator's shadow or the shadow of the surgical instrument; a means for obtaining the distance and size of the affected area 109 from the image; and a display means for displaying the whole image area of the affected area 109 or a partially enlarged image area of the whole image, obtained by imaging the affected area, and distance and size data associated with an electron camera image, on the same display of the monitoring equipment.
