To solve the problem that a patient, especially an aged person, is surprised and feels fear when a water supply/discharge box is moved when shifting from the state of sitting in a dental treatment chair to the state of lying on his/her back or shifting to the opposite for instance since gargling becomes easy and the introduction of the patient and leaving from the chair become easy to perform just by moving the water supply/discharge box in the front and back directions in a conventional dental treatment unit.
In the dental treatment unit, a freely turnable spittoon bowl 11 and a light pole 13 of a dental light 13a are attached to a cuspidor unit 1, and when sensor means 24 and 25 detect that the cuspidor unit is moved by a guide means 2 for moving the cuspidor unit along the side face of the dental treatment chair D, control is performed so as to lower the elevating and lowering speed of at least the backrest of the dental treatment chair.
