An X-ray detection element 22 detects the images by irradiation of X-rays, and a detector case 23 which incorporates the X-ray detection element 22 and insertable into an oral cavity is provided with an X-ray irradiation surface 41 in which the lengths of orthogonal two directions are different. A cable 24 is connected to the detector case 23 and sends out signals from the X-ray detection element 22 to the outside of the detector case 23, and the cable 24 is pulled out in a direction Z vertical to the longitudinal direction Y of the X-ray irradiation surface 41 and parallel to the X-ray irradiation surface 41 from the detector case 23. Thus, at the time of picking up the image of a tooth inside the oral cavity, especially at the time of picking up the image of a molar part, the cable 24 does not obstruct image pickup and the images are easily picked up without giving the unpleasant feelings to the patient.
