PURPOSE: To provide a dentifrice composition having little stimulation to the skin and mucosa and usable before meal without causing the change in the taste of food and drink, by using a polyglycerol fatty acid ester having an average polymerization degree of higher than a specific level as a cleaning foaming agent having high safety.
CONSTITUTION: The objective dentifrice composition contains a polyglycerol fatty acid ester having an average polymerization degree of ≥6, as a cleaning foaming agent. The polyglycerol fatty acid ester is preferably mono, id or triester of a polyglycerol having an average polymerization degree of especially 6W5,000, e.g. hexaglycerol, heptacontaglycerol, etc., and a 6W24C fatty acid such as caproic acid, palmitic acid, coconut fatty acid, etc. The surface tension of the dentifrice is lowered by high hydrophilicity and HLB of the ester. Since the ester has high permeability and frothability, it promotes the cleaning effect of the dentifrice and the dispersion and permeation of the active component, gives excellent foam in the mouth and is easily washed off with water.
