Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare a toothpaste capable of reducing the contents of a flavoring agent and a sweetener capable of remarkably stimulating the salivary flow, limiting the content of an anionic surfactant, weakening the dilution of a therapeutic agent in a liquid in the mouth and containing the therapeutic agent raised in persistent therapeutic effects. CONSTITUTION: This toothpaste comprises (a) a polishing cleaning agent, preferably silica or alumina, (b) a therapeutic agent, preferably a salt or a nonionic or a cationic antimicrobial agent capable of liberating therapeutically active ions in an aqueous medium, especially sodium fluoride and/or sodium monofluorophosphate, (c) 0.01-0.6wt.%, preferably 0.01-0.5wt.% flavoring agent, (d) 0.002-0.1wt.%, preferably 0.002-0.06wt.% saccharin sodium or an equal amount of another sweetener and (e) 0-1.5wt.%, preferably 0-1.0wt.% anionic surfactant and has the above effects.
