PURPOSE: To exhibit an excellent deodorant effect over a long period of time at a low cost without using special techniques and devices by holding a metal complex which decomposes or adsorbs malodorous materials on a granular or lumpy adsorber.

CONSTITUTION: This deodorant body used as an ornament, etc., in a toilet or room or by being put into a refrigerator, clog cabinet, etc., has the granular adsorber which consists of an inorg. material, org. material or a mixture composed of these materials and has 0.5 to 50mm sizes or the lumpy adsorber molded to a required shape. The deodorant body is formed by holding the metal complex which decomposes or adsorbs the malodorous materials onto such adsorber. Porous beads of active carbon, acidic clay, diatomaceous earth, etc., and porous ceramics, etc., are used for the inorg. material. Pulp chips and sawdust are used as the org. material. Further, metal porphyrin, such as metal phthalocyanine deriv., are used as the metal complex.
