To provide a deodorant which efficiently adsorbs a polar odor component and a nonpolar odor component so as to perform deodorization, and also reduces the re-discharge of the adsorbed odor components by a temperature rise, and also to provide a deodorant filter.
The deodorant, where an organic substance is stuck to active carbon, and the deodorant filter are provided, where the boiling point of the organic substance is ≥150°C and the melting point is ≤100°C and also the infinite dilution activity coefficient of methyl isobutyl ketone with respect to the organic substance is ≤10. It is preferable that the infinite dilution activity coefficient of methyl isobutyl ketone with respect to the organic substance to be stuck to the active carbon is ≤3, and the infinite dilution activity coefficient of 2-methyl furan is ≤5, while the infinite dilution activity coefficient of acetaldehyde is ≤5, and the infinite dilution activity coefficient of acetic acid is ≤10.
