PURPOSE: To provide a deodorant whose deodorizing effect is superior to that of the conventional deodorant, by making a tea extract have complexly citric acid and ascorbic acid if desired.

CONSTITUTION: Tea is administered with extraction treatment by using an extracting agent of a weak base nature, and citric acid and if desired, ascorbic acid are added to an extraction liquid thus obtained, and the 1st extraction liquid of a weak acid nature is prepared. Next, an effective element in the 1st extraction liquid is adsorbed to an absorption material by bringing the 1st extraction liquid into contact with the adsorption material, and the 2nd extraction liquid that consists of its remaining portion, is prepared. And, the effective element is extricated from the adsorption material that has finished absorption, and recovered, and a deodorant is made by mixing the adsorption- recovery element and the 2nd extraction liquid.
