Title:
DEODORANT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS60139338
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a deodorant capable of efficiently remove a bad odor and capable of visually detecting the adsorption amount of a malodorous component, by compounding a white substance having hydroscopic deliquescency in a mixture consisting of ferrous sulfate and zeolite.

CONSTITUTION: A white substance having hygroscopic deliquescency (e.g., potassium chloride, lithium chloride, sodium chloride) is compounded in a mixture consisting of ferrous sulfate and zeolite. Thus obtained deodorant removes an alkaline malodorous component such as ammonia through the chemical reaction with ferrous sulfate and removes an acidic or neutral malodorous component such as hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan or lower ester by the adsorbing action of zeolite but, in this case, because a malodorous component is collected in a moisture-containing state in the presence of Ca-chloride or the like, deodorizing effect is high and the adsorption amount of malodorous components can be visually detected from the coloration change of ferrous sulfate caused by the adsorption of moisture-containing malodorous components.
