PURPOSE: To obtain a deodorant quickly impregnating into skin, free from irritation and side effects and exhibiting deodorizing effect against various kinds of offensive odor, by using a deodorizing active substance selected from the group of SHAKUYAKU (dried root of Paeonia albiflora), BOTANPI (dried root skin of Paeonia moutan) and their extract.

CONSTITUTION: The objective deodorant contains one or more kinds of substances selected from SHAKUYAKU, BOTANPI and the their extract as a deodorizing active substance. The extract is produced by the extraction of the root of Paeonia albiflora or root skin of Paeonia moutan with water or aqueous alcohol usually at 15W25°C. The amount of the active substance is ≥0.005wt.% and preferably up to about 10wt.%.
