To provide a deodorization device enabling easily an arrangement design or assembly work to a refrigerator, and having safe and excellent deodorization performance, and to provide a refrigerator using the same.
In a deodorization device 1 of this invention, a light source 3 for radiating an ultraviolet ray and a deodorization filter 2 carrying a photocatalyst excited by the ultraviolet ray are arranged inside a metal case 5 having an air inflow port 6 and an air outflow port 7 formed thereon, and the ultraviolet ray from the light source 3 is shielded by the deodorization filter 2 and the metal case 5. Hereby, the deodorization device 1 is unitized, and an arrangement design in a refrigerator or an assembly work to the refrigerator can be performed easily. Further, leakage of an ultraviolet ray from the deodorization device 1 can be prevented, and deformation or deterioration of external resin components caused by the ultraviolet ray can be also prevented. Furthermore, even if the light source 3 is damaged by a failure or the like, scattering of damaged components to the outside or propagation of heat or spark can be prevented.
