Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and effectively reutilize a scrap magnetic recording medium as a deoxidizing and absorbing material.
SOLUTION: The magnetic layer of a magnetic recording medium obtd. by forming the magnetic layer contg. ferromagnetic metal powder and a binder on a substrate is subjected to oxygen absorption-activation treatment. At least one kind of treatment selected from among washing with an org. solvent, heating and the sticking of an electrolytic soln. is carried out as the oxygen absorption-activation treatment.
