To provide a desalination system and desalination method which can effectively utilize sewage water as much as possible and which can reduce water desalination cost of the overall system.
The desalination system S desalinates sewage water and seawater, and includes a purification device 1 which transmits and purifies the sewage water, a first RO membrane 2 which transmits the water s5a transmitted through the purification device 1 and eliminates salt so as to be included in first concentrated water s6a and generates industrial water s1, a first pretreatment device 3 in which the first concentrated water s6a is subject to at least one of concentrated filtering and filtering with an NF membrane, and a second RO membrane 4 which transmits first treated water s7a subjected to the pretreatment at the first pretreatment device 3, eliminates salt so as to be included in second concentrated water s6b and generates industrial water s2.
