Abstract:
PURPOSE: To remove an oxide scale without lowering the temp. of the cast sheet by disposing a reciprocating chisel of multi-needles between twin drums type continuous casting apparatus for the sheet and a hot rolling mill.
CONSTITUTION: A molten metal 4 is poured into a space formed by two water cooled casting rolls 1 and two side fixed weirs 2 through a tundish 5. The molten metal 4 is brought into contact with the surface of the water cooled casting roll 1 to cool, a formed solidified shell is drawn out by pinch rolls 6, immediately, the oxide scale stuck on the cast sheet 3 is removed by the upper and lower two reciprocating multi-needle chisel 8, then, hot rolled through the inline mill 9.
