To minimize the roughness of the outer surface of a seamless steel tube, to minimize the polishing work or the like in off-line and to save labor by jetting a high pressured water on the outer surface of a hot tube under carrying before a reeler mill.
In the manufacturing line of the seamless steel tube, a tube stock 6 is rolled with a plug mill 9 through a plug bar 11, next polished with the reeling mill 12 and reheated with a reheating furnace 13. Then, the high pressured water is jetted on the outer surface of the tube stock 6 of the hot tube under carrying from the end part nozzle of a header before the reeling mill 12 in the plug mill rolling. Whereby, descaling in the outer surface of the steel tube is executed. By this way, properties of the outer surface of the steel tube are remarkably improved before the reeler mill rolling wherein the roughness of the outer surface of the steel tube becomes large, and productivity is expected to improve.
