PURPOSE: To obtain a reciprocal rotation condition easily without requiring a reciprocal rotation mechanism while reducing the burden by reducing a frequency in which large driving motive power is applied to a belt of a pulley mechanism in a continuously variable transmission by combining a speed change pulley mechanism and a planetary gear mechanism with each other.
CONSTITUTION: Cam mechanisms 47 and 54 to contact/separate a sheave 35 in the inverse direction with/from a fixed sheave 34 between both pulleys 28 and 33, are arranged on the back side of a movable sheave 35 of the speed change pulleys 28 and 33, and an interlocking mechanism 64 is arranged to interlock both cam mechanisms 47 and 54 with each other so that belt winding diameters of both pulleys 28 and 33 change mutually in the inverse direction. A pinion carrying output gear 22 of a planetary gear mechanism 19 is switched to respective conditions of forward rotation, neutral or reverse rotation to a rotary shaft 2, and the speed is changed, and it is made adjustable in a neutral condition by a thrust balance of a belt 38 between both pulleys 28 and 33, and a speed change pulley mechanism 27 is used as a circulating motive power passage on the vehicle advance side which is frequently used.
