PURPOSE: To provide an electric water heater using a receptacle for liquid made of stainless steel excellent in corrosion resistance in which a feeling of metal blank of the receptacle is not impaired, fouls caused by deposit is prevented and water is heated silently.
CONSTITUTION: A heating surface of the inside of a receptacle 2 for liquid is composed of a first coating layer 3 having a main component of a resin selected from a group consisting of polyimide, polysulfone and polyarylsulfone to cover at least the heating surface of the inside of the receptacle and a second coating layer 4 having a main component of a mixture of a fluororesin and a resin selected from a group consisting of polyimide, polysulfone and polyarylsulfone and polyethersulfone to cover the first coating layer 3. Thus, the first coating layer 3 is excellent in adhesion to a metal to coat the surface of the receptacle 2 for liquid without blast treatment, so that the feel of a metal blank is not impaired. Also, since the second coating layer 4 is provided on the surface with a layer rich in the fluororesin so that fouls caused by deposit is prevented and water is heated silently.
