Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to control adequately desiccation strength corresponding to the state of an image formed on a recording medium.SOLUTION: In a case where a recording medium is desiccated by desiccation means 510 in an image formation process in which an image is formed on the recording medium, absorption strength of infrared light at a specified wavelength on the recording medium is measured by a sensor 500, and, based on the measuring result, desiccation strength of the desiccation means 510 is controlled. Furthermore, it is desirable that the desiccation means 510 is constituted by a near infrared light heater 511 and a mid infrared light heater 512, and the output ratio between the near infrared light heater 511 and the mid infrared light heater 512 is changed based on the measuring result of the sensor 500.
