Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that traffic of processing requests is rejected by a processing site side to be allocated to another site, which applies a larger load to a network for connecting sites in the case where the processing requests occur in an arrival rate that exceeds the capacity of a system in capacity and flow allocation.SOLUTION: An arrival rate of processing requests received by each request site includes a constraint condition which does not exceed the total sum about all processing sites of a product of the number of uses of a server in each processing site and an effective design capacity in a prescribed period. The number of uses of a server which solely processes processing requests from each request site at each processing site, a reception capacity for performing reject the processing requests at the request site, and a flow rate from each request site to each processing site are determined from the optimum solution of a mathematical programming problem which minimizes a sum between the total sum of expense about the number of uses of the server at each site and the total sum of profits which are lost due to the rejection of the processing requests per unit time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
