Abstract:
To provide a design method regarding a direct-injection internal combustion engine, with which it is possible to reduce the time and man-hours required for design.SOLUTION: Provided is a design method for a direct-injection internal combustion engine in which fuel is directly injected into a combustion chamber by an injector. This design method includes: a target combustion characteristic acquisition step for acquiring a target combustion characteristic that is the target value of combustion characteristic of the internal combustion engine; a target equivalent ratio distribution calculation step for calculating, on the basis of a combustion characteristic sensitivity function with which the sensitivity of the combustion characteristic to equivalence ratio distribution of a fuel-air mixture generated in the combustion chamber is quantified, target equivalence ratio distribution that is the target value of the equivalence ratio distribution with which the target combustion characteristic is achievable; and an injector requirement calculation step for calculating an injector requirement that is the requirement which the design parameters of the injector should fulfill in order to achieve the target equivalence ratio distribution.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
