To provide a design method of an optical component for laser beam shaping, which has a pair of aspherical lenses, and is capable of highly accurately shaping an intensity distribution of a laser beam to an arbitrary intensity distribution.
In the design method of the optical component for laser beam shaping according to one embodiment of the present invention, the intensity distribution of an incident laser beam is measured, shapes in a minor axis direction and a major axis direction of a pair of aspherical lenses are obtained respectively from the measured intensity distribution of the incident laser beam and a desired intensity distribution for each of the minor axis direction and the major axis direction of the incident laser beam, high-order polynomial approximation of the shapes in the minor axis direction and the major axis direction of the pair of aspherical lenses is executed respectively, a high-order polynomial in the minor axis direction or a high-order polynomial in the major axis direction is corrected using a correction coefficient, and the shapes of the pair of aspherical lenses on the basis of a corrected high-order polynomial.
