The design method of optical system using a performance function is provided with an initial value setting step (step S1) of setting an optical parameter in the design state considering no production error, a production state preparation/update step (step S2) of preparing an optical parameter in the production state by adding the production error to the optical parameter in the design state or updating the manufacture error of the optical parameter in the existing manufacture state, a performance function preparation step (step S3) of preparing the performance function and an optimizing execution step (step S4) of optimizing the performance function and determining the optimum optical parameter.
