Abstract:
To provide a computer implementation method for designing a sheet component including beads.SOLUTION: The present method includes a step of providing a CAD model representing the component. The CAD model includes a characteristic tree. The characteristic tree includes one or more CAD parameters each having an initial value. The method also includes a step of providing a bead optimization program specified by one or more use performance indexes and/or manufacturing performance index. The one or more indexes include one or more objective functions and/or one or more restrictions. The method further includes a step of correcting initial values of the one or more CAD parameters by solving the optimization program using a gradient-based bead optimization method. The optimization method includes the one or more CAD parameters as free variables and uses sensitivities where each sensitivity is an approximation of an individual derivative of the individual performance index for the individual CAD parameter.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
