Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design support equipment which can improve the working efficiency of the similar designs that occupy the greater part of design of a new product. SOLUTION: A shape definition editing processing part 6 having a shape generation command performs the operations for generation and combination, etc., of shapes in response to their inputs via the input devices 11 and 12 and a display 13, and the shape data 4 are registered in a storage 3 for each ID of shape parts, i.e., an operation unit. In such a constitution of a design support device 1, the design history data 5 including the shape types combinable with the shape parts and the relational attribute that restricts the combination of them are stored in the storage 3 correspondingly to the data 4. When an optional shape parts (shape data) stored in the storage 3 is combined with the specific shape of a product to be newly designed, a design operation decision processing part 8 decides the propriety of combination of them by referring to the data 5 on the shape parts. If the propriety of the combination is decided, a design history registration processing part 7 dynamically registers the data 5.
