To improve an ability to cut, silence and portability of a desktop cutting machine.

The desktop circular saw 10 includes a cutting part 30 which can be tilted to both sides by a tilting part, and a transmitting mechanism 60c having a first belt 602b and transmitting a rotating power of a motor 50 to saw teeth 32. A motor shaft 500 and an intermediate rotating shaft 605 are arranged to be directed to different directions so that the motor 50 is arranged in parallel with the saw teeth 32. The first belt 602b is extended on a first pulley 600 and a second pulley 604 provided at end parts thereof so as to be twisted. In such a way, the motor 50 is arranged in parallel with the saw teeth 32, so that the protrusion of the motor 50 from a cover 34 is suppressed. Since the motor 50 is arranged outside and above the saw teeth 32, even when the cutting part 30 is tilted, a cutting depth can be deepened without interfering with the cutting operation of the saw teeth 32.
