To provide an inexpensive and easy-to-use small size firing tool which can be easily used even by an amateur of ceramic art and which is operated without utilizing city gas or an electric furnace as a heat source.

The desktop type firing tool is constituted of a firing tool main body made of a refractory material and having a bottomed cylindrical structure and a cap body for heat storage, which is made of a refractory material, has a cylindrical structure, and is capable of being mounted on the upper end of the firing tool main body. A solid fuel mounting section in a raised bottom condition is formed at the central part of the bottom wall part of the firing tool main body. Further, an ignition port and/or an air intake port are provided at the side wall part of the firing tool main body. A flange on which a firing net is mounted is provided at the inner peripheral part in the vicinity of the upper opening part of the firing tool main body. Furthermore, a heat storing dome having an upward dome shape and a gas exhausting opening at the central part is installed at the inner peripheral part of the cap body for heat storage.
