Abstract:
A slide type miter saw (1) capable of easily switching operation mode between groove forming mode and ordinary cutting mode without generation of fluffs and cracks at an upper surface of a workpiece (W). A circular-saw unit (20) supporting a circular saw blade (21) has a first stopper bolt (46) abuttable on a stopper receiver (38) on a support unit for determining the lowermost position of the circular saw blade (21). The circular-saw (20) unit also has a second stopper bolt (47) for forming a groove of a desired depth in the workpiece (W). The second stopper bolt (47) is movable with respect to the first stopper bolt (46). The stopper receives supports a pivot member (42) or a plate (72). The pivot member (42) or the plate (72) is abuttable on the second stopper bolt (47) in accordance with a moved position of the second stopper bolt (47) for regulating a depth of a groove.
