This desk top system 10 includes a desk top device 12, and on its desk plate 14, a thumb-nail image is displayed by a second computer 30. In a beginning of generation of the thumb-nail image on a screen, a linear motor 16 is driven so that impact due to the generation is applied to a conductor 20a (pointing device 20). When the pointing device 20 is brought close to the thumb-nail image, the linear motor 16 is driven so that repulsion due to the approach/collision is added to the pointing device 20. When the thumb-nail image is dragged by means of the pointing device 20, the linear motor 16 is driven so that inertia force due to the drag is applied to the pointing device 20. The linear motor 16 is controlled to be driven according to information concerned with the thumb-nail image.
