PURPOSE: To prevent duplicate storage of a telephone number even when a phone call comes from a same party for many number of times in the automatic answering telephone state and to store how many times the opposite party makes a call by revising an incoming call arrival number while incrementing the number by one when the telephone number sent from the opposite party is already stored in a memory in the automatic answering telephone state.

CONSTITUTION: When an incoming call reaches, the arrival time is stored and a voice synthesizer 11h is started to guide of a DTMF function to a caller. When an end code is received, the call termination processing is implemented and whether or not a fetched telephone number is already stored in a 2nd memory is checked and when the telephone number is not stored, the arrival call number is set to 1 and it is stored in the 2nd memory 11a-3 together with the telephone number and the arrival time. When the telephone number is stored, the arrival call number is incremented by 1 and the incremented arrival call number is stored in the 2nd memory 11a-3 together with the telephone number and the arrival time or the like.
