Title:
DESULFURIZATION OF GAS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01304025
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an inexpensive low toxity catalyst shortening the desulfurization reaction time in the desulfurization of gas, by using an absorbing solution having an Mn or Ni salt added thereto as a catalyst.

CONSTITUTION: In improving a gas desulfurization method utilizing redox reaction, an absorbing solution having an Mn or Ni salt added thereto is used as a catalyst. H2S in gas is collected in a form of NH4SH in an H2S absorbing tower when alkali is aqueous ammonia. The Mn or Ni salt used as the catalyst separates S in H2S as elementary S and H is added to said salt itself. The solution containing the Mn or Ni salt having H added thereto is aerated with air bubbles and H is oxidized by oxidation reaction due to air bubbling to regenerate the catalyst. Therefore, this absorbing solution can be used repeatedly.
