PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the detected article to be effective in preventing forgery and illegal use by obtaining more various detecting signals than heretofore.
SOLUTION: The detected article 10 is equipped with a large number of 1st magnetic elements 12 consisting of a magnetic material of magnetically soft quality and low coercive force and a large number 2nd magnetic elements 13 consisting of a magnetic cterial of magnetically hard quality and high coersive force, which are mixed at random in a scanning area 17. The device for processing the article 10 is composed of a magnetizer for giving a magnetic field magnetizing the 2nd magnetic elements 13 to the scanning area 17, a magnetic sensor for obtaining a detecting signal scanning the scanning area 17 magnetically and a controller for enciphering data relative to the detecting signals obtained by scanning the scanning area 17 plural times in changing conditions of magnetizing the 2nd magnetic elements 13, etc. The detectionate is fudged to be genuine by the controller when the enciphered data recorded in a code display part and the detecting signals are correspondent to each other.
