Title:
DETECTING APPARATUS OF OVERHEATING OF ELECTRIC EQUIPMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06123658
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To monitor the generation of overheating surely and easily by setting means for generating odor when the temperature of a conductive part of an electric equipment rises to a set value or higher.

CONSTITUTION: A distinguishing tube 17 mounted at a pressure-welded terminal 16 of a conductor (conductive part) 15 of a cable (power feeding line) 14 in the conductive state is provided with an odor generating means 11. The generating means 11 sends out an offensive smell (sweet scent). For example, the essence of odor sealed in microcapsules formed of a sealing material such as paraffin or the like is exposed when the microcapsules are overheated to reach a temperature and broken, thereby, the smell is generated. If the conductor 15 or terminal 16 is turned to the overheating state and the temperature of the terminal 16 is raised to make the generating means 11 generate the smell, the sense of smell of an observer is stimulated to let the observer know the generation of the smell and eventually the overheating At the same time, a detecting means (smell detecting sensor) 12 detects the offensive smell and outputs a detecting signal to a display means 13. The display means 13 turns on/off a red lamp or generates a warning sound (buzzer).
