Abstract:
To provide a belt wear detecting device for a drive mechanism adopting a new driving system, for example, an elevator drive mechanism.
The drive mechanism with a belt has a rope or a belt tension member for supporting a moved body, such as a car of an elevator, wound on a sheave for driving the circulation of the belt in contact with an arcuate region of the tension member wound on the sheave using a motor. A photoelectric device is provided outward from the sheave for emitting a light from the side face of the belt toward the belt, and means is provided for detecting the wear of the belt from the transmission degree of the light.
