Abstract:
PURPOSE:To detect a stepped shape of an object in the whole area of an input screen by a method wherein information on a distance from a reference plane is obtained by using a parallel slit light, a distance image thus obtained is binary-coded and a region of a height in a prescribed range is detected therefrom. CONSTITUTION:A number is given to a slit light of an input image by a slit light numbering element 107, and an image with the slit number (reference image) on a reference plane 106 is stored in a reference image storage element 108. In an object image storage element 109, an object image in an object 103 is stored. In a height image computing element 110, a height image wherein a height from the plane 106 of the object 103 is expressed as a gradation density value of each pixel is computed on the basis of these reference and object images. This height image is subjected to a threshold processing in a threshold processing element 111, and thereby a stepped region can be detected.
