To provide a detecting device for the submergence of a vehicle that can detect by means of an inexpensive, simple constitution that the vehicle has submerged.
A carbon pattern 21 serving as a submergence detecting part and a submergence determining circuit 22 which determines a submerged condition from changes in a resistance value of the carbon pattern 21 and then outputs a submergence detection signal WS are provided on a circuit board or the like on which the electronic circuit of a power window control part is mounted. If the carbon pattern 21 is immersed in water when the vehicle is submerged, its resistance value increases and the carbon pattern potential Vc exceeds a reference potential Vr, so that the submergence detection signal WS is output from the submergence determining circuit 22.
