Title:
DETECTING METHOD FOR OVERLAP WELD ZONE BETWEEN LEADING STEEL PLATE AND TRAILING STEEL PLATE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63163203
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To securely prevent an applicator roll from being damaged by a weld zone by arranging plural optical displacement sensors successively in the breadthwise direction of a plate, setting a specific number of sensors among them overlapping with one another, and outputting a control signal for operation when weld zone is detected at the same time. CONSTITUTION:The optical displacement sensors 10 are installed at a distance of, for example, about 13mm from the top surface of a cold rolled steel plate S on a guide roll 1 and at four positions in the breadthwise direction of the steel plate S. Only when overlap weld zones W of the steel plate S that, for example, >=3 sensors among those sensors 10 pass are detected at the same time, a hydraulic cylinder 7 is moved back (forth) after a specific time passes from a controller 11 for operation, namely, right before (or when) the weld zones W reach an applicator roll 4, which is separated (or brought into contact with) the steel plate S. Thus, the roll 4 is prevented from being damaged by the overlap weld zones W of the steel plate S.
