Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a detecting method of water leakage in a retaining wall which makes it possible to detect a place of the water leakage in the retaining wall quickly and economically by simple equipment without providing a boring hole and to execute a detecting operation without hindering an operation for excavation.
CONSTITUTION: A number of electrodes 11 are driven into the bottom ground of excavation at prescribed positions thereof along a retaining wall 10. A current is made to flow between the electrodes 11 in a pair which are selected from the above electrodes, while a reference value of specific resistance is set on the basis of a potential difference between other electrodes 11 in a pair which are positioned between those paired electrodes 11. Moreover, the specific resistance is measured repeatedly, measured values of the specific resistance thus obtained are compared with the reference value and a place 30 of water leakage is detected from a change in the measured value.
