Title:
DETECTION OF FAILURE DUE TO DEMAGNETIZATION OF MOTOR IN ELECTRIC VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3898107
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and effective method for judging the state of a permanent magnet in the motor of a vehicle.
SOLUTION: In an electric vehicle or a hybrid electric vehicle, a voltage monitor 102 is connected with a thrust motor 38 and/or a generator motor 30 and detects the permanent magnet induction voltage in a motor at a specified speed under no-load state. A controller 100 compares the permanent magnet induction voltage thus detected with a predicted reference voltage representative of the permanent magnet induction voltage being predicted at a specified speed under fully magnetized state. The comparison includes to specify the point of synchronization and to use the point of synchronization in order to judge the difference in the detected permanent magnet induction voltage caused by a failed component.
