Title:
DETECTION OF HYDROGEN INVADING STEEL STRUCTURAL MEMBER FROM ENVIRONMENT OF USE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0368838
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make it possible to perform stabilized continuous measurement simply for a long period by providing a hydrogen collecting space to a steel structure member, and measuring the hydrogen which is discharged into the hydrogen collecting space as the pressure increasing increment in the space.

CONSTITUTION: When one surface of a member 1 is in contact with a corroding environment 2, a tightly closed hydrogen collecting space 3 is provided to a part of the member 1. The inside of the space is equally divided into two parts of a space 31 into which hydrogen is discharged and a space 32 into which hydrogen is not discharged with a partitioning wall 4. The pressure difference between both spaces 31 and 33 is measured with a differential pressure gage 5. In the meantime, as the space 32, a tightly closed container having the same volume which is provided otherwise in the same temperature environment as the space 31 can be used, and the container and the space 31 can be connected to the differential pressure gage with a conduit tube.
