Title:
DETECTION METHOD OF INTEGRATED CIRCUIT INSERTION DIRECTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5483381
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To apply a constant voltage or current, through specified sockets, to arbitrary lead wires of IC which is to be inserted into an IC socket and to compare the voltage or current which appears across the sockets at this time with a separately determined value, thereby facilitating detection of correct insertion of the IC. CONSTITUTION:First IC 2 is inserted into IC socket 1, while causing terminal 3 of the IC 2 to come into contact with socket terminal 4, and outputs A and B of constant current source 5 are connected to IC terminals a and b through socket terminals. Next, one of outputs of constant current source 5 is connected to the (+)-side input terminal of comparator 6, and the other output, together with one of outputs of voltage setting circuit 8, is fixed to the ground level. The other output of circuit 8 is connected to the (-)-side input terminal of comparator 6, and the output of the comparator is connected to the normalcy/error indicator 7. In this constitution, voltages which correspond to other terminals c and d of the IC will appear on the comparator, if the insertion direction of IC 2 is not correct, and indicator 7 indicates the error.
