PURPOSE: To enhance the detection capability by comparing digital electric signals of measuring points on the whole of a printed face with a reference value to discriminate error points and calculating a fraction defective.
CONSTITUTION: Variations of the quantity of received light at measuring points on the whole of a printed face A are detected by a photodetector 18, and its outputs are inputted to an A/D converter E through an amplifier D and are converted to digital electrical signals. A standard digital electrical signal is stored in a memory F. These digital electrical signals are inputted to an operating circuit H, and differences between them are outputted. These differences are compared with an allowance set value by a comparing circuit J to discriminate error points. The output of the comparator J is given to a counter K, and a fraction defective is calculated by an operating circuit L and a fraction defective setter U.
