To provide a detection reagent of residual chlorine capable of simply detecting residual chlorine, and a method capable of simply judging a washing final point in stationary washing.
The detection reagent of residual chlorine to be used contains a buffer solution containing an N, N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine sulfate (a), sodium sulfate (b), 1,2-cyclohexanediamine tetraacetate (c) and sodium dihydrogenphosphate and/or potassium dihydrogenphosphate (d). Further, a rinsing final point decision method includes a step for sterilizing a substance to be sterilized using a chlorine-containing liquid, a step for rinsing the substance to be sterilized with rinsing water and a step for adding the detection reagent to the rinsing water after rinsing and is characterized by deciding the completion of rinsing when the rinsing water to which the detection reagent is added develops no color.
