PURPOSE: To improve the reliability by identifying the presence and absence of the changing point of a one-dimensional signal by extracting a prescribed function from evaluated values obtained by applying a prescribed evaluating criterion to multiple functions identifying the profile of one-dimensional signals.
CONSTITUTION: The light source pattern 4 of a light source 2 is converted into electric signals by means of an image pickup device 5. The signals caught by means of the device 5 are stored in a memory 11. Signals read out from the memory 11 are inputted to a model processor 12 and the processor 12 converts the signals into information reflecting a model by referring to the data of a changing point storing device 13. The information is stored in a model storing device 14 and sent to a flaw recognizing and discriminating device 16 using a neural network together with the information which is inputted from an operator judgment inputting device 15 and represents the judged result of the image by an operator.
