To detect an action of a person and a sign thereof regardless of a detection range.SOLUTION: A detection system comprises: an imaging apparatus which has a visible light camera and a near-infrared camera and captures an image of a person; and an arithmetic unit which switches between a first mode for capturing an image of a person with the visible light camera and a second mode for capturing an image of a person with the near-infrared camera, and detects an action of a person or the sign of the action from an image captured by a switched mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
