To provide a detector for biometrics less influenced by an environmental change and surely operating without complicated procedure.
This detector for biometrics detects bioinformation to be collated with the previously registered bioinformation to identify a user. The detector includes a heat generation means for heating a detecting part facing a part of the body as an information source of bioinformation, preferably it includes a temperature sensing power supply control means for operating the heat generation means only when the ambient temperature is below a predetermined value, and a cover for covering the detecting part. In this case, preferably a cleaning means for cleaning the surface of the detecting part is provided on the cover. Further, preferably a guide means for accurately positioning a finger is provided on the detecting part.
