PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detector for delivery progress which enables detecting of the degree of the progress of delivering a fetus in a delivery process by achieving easier operation of initialization without discomfort felt by a pregnant woman.
SOLUTION: A delivery progress detector A is inserted into a vagina of a pregnant woman. The detector is provided with a detection body 11 comprising a soft material which has a stretching part 11a so arranged that an outer circumferential surface thereof is kept in contact with a wall surface of the vagina in a nonslip manner while a compressed deformation occurs radially following the downward delivery of a fetus and an insertion holding part 11b with little compressed deformation, a metal pipe 15 provided at the stretching part of the detection body, an oscillation circuit having a coil 27 provided at the insertion holding part of the detecting body and a transmitter. The oscillation frequency of the oscillation circuit changes according to the degree of lapping between the coil and the metal pipe associated with the compressed deformation of the stretching part and the transmitter transmits a signal indicating the degree of the progress of delivering the fetus from an antenna 22 based on the frequency. The detecting body comprises a bag-shaped skin 12 and a sponge rubber 13 and the outer diameter of the skin is reduced when the inside of the skin is evacuated before the insertion thereof into the vagina. After the insertion, the detecting body returns to the original shape when the inside of the skin is released into the atmospheric pressure.
