Abstract:

PURPOSE: To detect securely eccentricity without watch, to operate a coke oven automatically, and to make it into an unmanned coke oven, by setting a noncontact range finder at the face of a transfer car opposing a chamber oven, measuring the distance between the range finder and the opposing face of the chamber oven, carrying out calculation to detect the eccentricity of the transfer car based on the chamber oven.

CONSTITUTION: The oscillator 5 to send ultrasonic wave and to receive reflected wave is attached to the both ends of the top of the transfer car 4 at the side of the chamber oven 2. After the transfer car 4 is stopped at a given position along the chamber oven 2, the regulator 7 outputs an order of length measurement to the converter 6. Consequently, the converter 6 sent an output signal to the oscillator 5, sends ultrasonic wave from the oscillator 5 to the backstay 3, and receives reflected wave from the backstay 3. The converter 6 calculates the distance from the oscillator 5 to the backstay 3 from the difference between the sending time of ultrasonic wave and the receiving time of it, outputs the value to the regulator 7 and detects the eccentricity of the transfer car 4 based on the chamber oven.
