PURPOSE: To make the nozzle opening possible to be directly detected at a distance, by detachably connecting the rod for detecting position of the sliding nozzle and of the position signal generator.
CONSTITUTION: The actuation of the sliding nozzle of the sliding nozzle plate 2 is transmitted as the actuation of the rod 4 for detecting the position of the sliding nozzle, being united with the plate 2. This detected actuation is transmitted to the wire rope 7 being connected to the position detecting rod 4, and the sheave 10 is rotated. By this rotation of the sheave 10, the position signal generator 8, being connected through the coupling with the shaft of the sheave 10, actuates and generates the signal for the exact distance of actuation of the sliding nozzle. As a result, the position (opening) of the sliding nozzle can be detected without including any error.
