PURPOSE: To obtain a detergent which can remove stains from a coated surface of an automobile, etc., without an adverse effect on the coated surface by using an aqueous solution of an ammonium salt of an organic acid as an effective component.
CONSTITUTION: This detergent contains an aqueous solution of an ammonium salt of an organic acid as an effective component. As the effective component, an aqueous organic acid solution made weakly alkaline with ammonia can also be used. As the ammonium salt of an organic acid, for example, ammonium salts of a higher fatty acid, an amino acid, an alkyl ether sulfuric acid, an N-acylamino acid, an N-alkylamino acid, an alkyl ether carboxylic acid, and an alkylsulfocarboxylic acid are preferably used. It is desirable that the concentration of the ammonium salt in the aqueous solution be about 5-10wt.%. As the organic acid for preparing the aqueous organic acid solution made weakly alkaline with ammonia, the same organic acid as for the ammonium salt may be used. An alcohol and/or a builder can be appropriately incorporated as an optional ingredient in addition into the above-mentioned detergent.
