To provide a detergent composition which is excellent in bubbling and bubble properties, imparts good smoothness and moistness to hair, skin, etc., and hardly irritates skin.

The detergent composition contains (a) a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether sulfate and/or a polyoxyethylene alkenyl ether sulfate satisfying specified conditions and represented by general formula (1): R-(OC2H4)n-OSO3M (wherein R is an 8-24C alkyl or alkenyl group; n is an average number of moles of ethylene oxide added, satisfying 1≤n≤6; and M is an alkali metal, ammonium, or a hydroxyalkylammonium) and (b) a polyglycerol fatty acid ester and/or polyglycerol.
